Welcome!

Thanks for taking the time to visit the new web site for Henrietta Animal Hospital.  I'm Dr. Michelle T. Brownstein, the sole practitioner for my hospital since 1992. I consider myself a very lucky person since I was able to reach my goal to practice veterinary medicine, a goal started at the age of 5 .

I am proud to be a member of a profession dedicated to the health and welfare of animals.  We eagerly look forward to meeting new pets and their owners everyday and helping them grow together.

I was born and raised in Rochester, NY and returned after finishing my education to begin practice.  My goal was to stay in large animal practice but a back injury altered that path.  So, I have been practicing small animal medicine and surgery exclusively for 21 years.

I have a 13 year old son named Isaac who is eager to join his Mom in practice in about 15 years or so.

After 21 years in practice, I enjoy each day as much as the first.  One decision that I have chosen is to remain the sole owner and  practitioner. This enables me to meet each patient and make the pet's health a vital responsibility.  Furthermore, being solo allows me to continue to add a " personal touch" to our patient's healthcare whether it is just a follow-up call after a routine illness or comforting a bereaved client who has lost their pet.

I am owned by one Pembroke Welsh Corgi (Nigel)), a yellow Labrador Retriever named Atticus, and three cats, Gershwin, Princess and Buzz. This site and my hospital are dedicated to the memory of my Father "Itzy" who passed away May 12,1999,  my Mother, Maryleah who we lost July 13, 2002. and the future of my son Isaac Aaron.
